Crown Point, Indiana, December 14th, 2023 – CORE X Partners, a leading innovator in temperature-controlled storage and supply chain solutions, proudly announces the groundbreaking of their newest facility, CORE X CROWN, in Crown Point, Indiana. This marks the company’s significant expansion with its eighth regional location and 15th warehouse within their national supply chain network.
CORE X CROWN, a state-of-the-art facility, will be developed in three phases. Upon completion, it will encompass 450,000 square feet, representing an investment of $200 million and generating 150 new jobs in the region. The facility’s strategic location in Crown Point, known for its central positioning, will amplify CORE X Partners’ ability to provide comprehensive national solutions to its customers.
“This new facility is not just an expansion of our physical footprint but a significant step towards our commitment to addressing the pressing issues of food waste and insecurity,” said Ken Whah, President of CORE X Midwest. “With CORE X CROWN, we aim to donate 1 million meals annually to food-insecure families, collaborating with local food banks and charities.”
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Thursday, was a momentous occasion, marking the start of the first phase of the project. This initial phase, estimated at $93 million, will create 75 jobs and includes a 215,000 square-foot, five-story building on 38.66 acres at 13450 Mississippi Parkway. Expected to take approximately one year to complete, this phase lays the foundation for the facility’s future expansions.
With a burgeoning portfolio of 15 warehouses across states including California, Texas, Ohio, Utah, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, CORE X Partners has rapidly grown since its inception three years ago. The CORE X CROWN facility in Indiana, poised to become a critical hub in the company’s network, will enhance CORE X’s role as a vital link between food producers and sellers.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture highlights that 30-40% of the country’s food supply is wasted annually. CORE X Partners aims to significantly reduce this figure by efficiently storing and redistributing excess food before it spoils, thus also tackling the challenge of food insecurity faced by 17 million U.S. households.
“We are thrilled to welcome CORE X Partners to Crown Point. Their presence here is not just a win for our city but a triumph for the state and the region,” expressed Crown Point Mayor, Pete Land, who was a key figure in bringing the company to Crown Point. “Their commitment to community welfare and economic growth aligns perfectly with our vision for the future.”
With CORE X CROWN, CORE X Partners reaffirms its dedication to innovation, community engagement, and sustainable growth, setting a new benchmark in the supply chain and storage industry.
